Fryklund Hockey Camp
Fryklund Hockey camp is designed to provide opportunities for female hockey players to develop their skills in a supportive and positive environment. We are passionate about skill development and empowering female players on and off the ice. Our coaching staff includes coaches who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to each camp. Our goal is to help players develop their skills and improve their playing abilities while creating lifelong friendships with those who share an interest in hockey. Join us for a week of fun and challenging training led by coaches who are dedicated to seeing you succeed.
Camp Structure
Camp structure includes daily ice sessions, classroom sessions, and off-ice sessions. Detailed camp schedules are based on camp location and dates.

Ice Sessions are focused on skating, puck handling, puck protection, shooting, passing, small areas games, and competition.

Off-Ice Skills are focused on stickhandling, puck shooting, strength training, warm up/cool down, and team games.

Classroom Sessions are focused on leadership development, team building activities, women's hockey opportunities, mental skills training, and nutrition. New summer 2026 - video sessions focused on hockey concepts and skills.
*Registration fee also includes a t-shirt and jersey.
Camps are open to ages 7-18. 8U/10U/12U age groups are limited to 40 participants per age group/camp. 13+/HS age group is limited to 30 participants per age group/camp. Once age group camps are full - you will be added to a wait list.

Age Groups:
8U/10U/12U Camp - Ages 7-12.
13+/HS Camp - Ages 13-18.
*players will be group by age/skill level for ice sessions.

Amber Fryklund
Amber Fryklund is the Head Women's Hockey Coach at Bemidji State University. Amber grew up in Hibbing, MN and played girls’ high school hockey at Hibbing during the early years of Minnesota girl’s high school hockey. She continued her hockey journey by playing Division I women’s hockey at Bemidji State University (WCHA). Following her college playing career, she started her teaching and coaching career. Amber has over 20 years of coaching experience at various levels, including youth, high school, and collegiate levels.

Andrea Nichols Sele
Andrea (Nichols) Sele spent 10 years as a coach at Concordia College and currently works for West Fargo Youth Hockey. She has experience coaching at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. Nichols is a former two-time captain for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and won two NCAA National Championships in back-to-back seasons in 2004 and 2005. She also played for the Minnesota Whitecaps and won the Clarkson Cup in 2010. Nichols was a decorated high school player for Hibbing/Chisholm where she was named Minnesota’s Ms. Hockey in 2003.

Ashley Holmes
Ashley is an assistant coach at St. Olaf College. Previously, she was the Director of Operations at the University of Minnesota and spent 9 years with Augsburg University as an assistant coach. She helping guide Augsburg to five consecutive playoff appearances from 2015 to 2020. Prior to her time at Augsburg, Holmes was an assistant coach with Alexandria HS. Holmes played HS hockey for Alexandria where she led her team to a state championship. Holmes played collegiately for four years at the University of North Dakota.

Tracy Johnson
Tracy Johnson is in her seventh season as the head women's hockey coach at St. Olaf College. Prior to St Olaf, Johnson was the head women's hockey coach at Stevenson University. Her coaching experience includes collegiate, high school, 19U, 12U, 10U, and 8U levels. Johnson played college hockey at Boston College where she was a captain her junior and senior year. She played HS hockey at Benilde-St. Margaret’s, where she was a captain and helped lead her team to a state championship in 2004.

Michelle McAteer
Michelle McAteer spent 14 seasons as head Coach of the Augsburg University women’s hockey program. While at Augsburg, McAteer coached the women's hockey program to eight consecutive MIAC playoff appearances and recruited and coached multiple All-Americans. Prior to Augsburg, McAteer held assistant coaching positions at Minnesota Duluth, Vaughn Flames and Harvard University. McAteer played her college hockey at the University of MN Duluth and won national championship titles in 2001, 2002 and 2003, while also winning Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) regular-season titles in 2000 and 2003, and WCHA playoff titles in 2000, 2001 and 2003. Michelle McAteer is currently the Commissioner of the women’s WCHA.

Emily Erickson
Emily Erickson grew up in Coleraine and played HS Hockey for Grand-Rapids/Greenway. She was a top-finalist for the Ms. Hockey award and led her team to the state tournament in 2007 and 2008. She was awarded the Herb Brooks award her senior year and named to the 2008 AA state hockey all-tournament team. She went on to play at Bemidji State University where she led the beavers in goals and points during her junior and senior years. During her time at BSU, she was invited to the USA Hockey Women’s National Team Tryouts in 2011. She was an Academic All-WCHA and WCHA Scholar-Athlete during her junior and senior seasons. Emily has experience coaching at the youth and high school levels. She was an assistant and head girl’s hockey coach for the Hibbing Bluejackets from 2012-2018. She currently is a Math teacher in Hibbing.

Mercury Bischoff
Mercury Bischoff just completed her first year at Minnesota State Mankato where she led the Mavericks in points. She was also named to the 25-26 WCHA All-Rookie Team. She he played for the Grand Rapids-Greenway Lightning in high school where she was name the 2025 Ms. Hockey Award winner – the first player from Northern Minnesota to win the award since 2003. She le the state in points (86) and goals (56) her senior year while leading GRG to the section championship game. She finished her career with 381 points (233 goals and 148 assists) which is 12th all time in the state of Minnesota.

Alexis Joyce
Alexis Joyce played four seasons for Bemidji State University and ranks as the program's second highest scoring defense. Joyce was an All-WCHA Second and Rookie Team selection and was a three-time WCHA Scholar-Athlete and WCHA All-Academic Team honoree. Following her student-athlete career, she joined the Bemidji State coaching staff as a Co-Director of Hockey Operations, spent a season playing professional hockey in Sweden, and spent two years as an assistant coach for the Bemidji State Beavers. Joyce played high school hockey for Lakeville North HS where she led her team to three straight state tournament appearances.

Makenzie Cole
Makenzie Cole currently plays college women’s hockey for the College of St. Scholastica where she is majoring in Health Informatics and Information Management. She played high school girl’s hockey for Grand Rapids/Greenway where she was a two-time team captain, all-conference selection, and honor student. She has coaching experience working local youth hockey camps and specializes in working with goaltenders.

Claire Vekich
Claire Vekich is in her first year in the PWHL with the Montreal Victoire. She played Division I hockey at Minnesota State-Mankato after spending her first two seasons at Bemidji State University. She was a WCHA All-Academic Team selection, a three-time WCHA Rookie of the Week Selection, and WCHA Rookie of the Month. Claire played high school girl’s hockey for Grand Rapids/Greenway where she was a five-time letter winner for GRG girl’s hockey and a six-time letter winner for volleyball, softball, and tennis. She was named All-State Honorable mention, was a three-time All-Conference selection, led the GRG lightning in points, and was named the Iron Range Conference Player of the Year. Claire has experience coaching various local youth hockey camps.

Beth Brown Davies
Beth Brown Davies was a figure skater and transitioned to hockey. She was the 1995 State Champion for Juvenile Figures, a figure skating discipline focused on balance and edge control. She played the inaugural season of the Hibbing High School girls hockey team - she was a member of the 1997 State Champion team, 1998 State All-Tournament team and 2000 All Iron Range team. She earned a scholarship to play women's hockey at Bemidji State University. Beth has two decades of coaching experience - learn to skate, power skating, youth hockey and high school hockey. She was a Varsity Assistant Coach for Bluejacket girls hockey and named 2022-2023 Section 7A Assistant Coach of the Year. Beth is a Partner with Iron Edge Skating and provides Learn to Skate, Skating Skills and Power Skating classes for future and active hockey players.

April Beel
April Beel has extensive experience coaching at the youth hockey levels. She started coaching boys mini-mites in 2013 and has continued her coaching career with Hibbing Boys Bantams and Pee Wees (State Champs 2023). She also has coached with SIV Goalie Camp and Iron Range Goalie Academy. She is a Level 4 USA Hockey Coach and a Bronze Level USA Hockey Goalie Coach. April grew up in Hibbing and played girls HS Hockey for Hibbing. She was a member of the Hibbing Girls 1997 State Championship and 1998 State Runner-up teams.

Dr. Allison Meyers
Dr. Meyers is a Licensed Psychologist with specialized training in health, nutritional, and sports psychology. Additionally, she has years of experience coaching hockey, ages 8-18, and taught yoga to Junior hockey players. As a former collegiate hockey player, Dr. Meyers’ main interest in Mental Performance Coaching is working within the systems in which athletes play, such as families, teams, associations, or coaching systems. Blending developmental and sports psychology enables her to provide unique insights on how to enhance athletic performance at all ages and levels. She will be leading a classroom session on Mental Performance during camp. Dr. Meyers played high school hockey in Duluth where she earned All-State and All-Conference awards and was also an All-Conference award winner at the University of St. Thomas.

Kendall Gustavsson
Kendall graduated from Hibbing High School in 2025. She was a multi-sport athlete and played high school hockey at Hibbing. She currently plays collegiate hockey at UW-Superior.

Sadie Peart
Sadie Peart is an assistant coach at Quinnipiac University. Prior to Quinnipiac, she was an assistant coach at Dartmouth College. She played collegiate hockey at Quinnipiac University where she was team Captain. She recorded 15 goals and 16 assists in her final season leading her team to a 25-11-1 record. Throughout her career at Quinnipiac she has recorded multi-point games, scored numerous power play goals, and led her team to the NCAA tournament in 2022. Sadie played high school girl’s hockey for Grand Rapids/Greenway where she was a top-ten finalist for the Ms. Hockey award her senior year. She finished her high school career with 253 points and still holds the career assists record. She also has extensive coaching experience working local youth hockey camps.

Jess Strack
Jess Strack is an Assistant Coach with the Bemidji State University Women’s Hockey program, where she works primarily with goaltenders while also contributing to recruiting, hockey operations, and player development. She joined the Beavers in 2025 after serving as an assistant and goaltending coach at Merrimack College in the Hockey East conference.
A former Division I goaltender at Franklin Pierce University, Strack was a key part of the program’s transition from Division III to Division I and served as team captain during her collegiate career. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and was a two-time AHCA All-American Scholar. Following her playing career, Strack competed professionally with the Connecticut Whale in the Premier Hockey Federation and later served as a practice goaltender for the New York Sirens of the Professional Women’s Hockey League. She also brings extensive experience in goalie development through her work with Stop It Goaltending and various elite camps and USA Hockey High Performance programs.

Sydney Brodt
Sydney Brodt is the head coach at the College of St. Scholastica. She played for the UMD Bulldogs from 2016-2020 and continued to play professional hockey for five seasons, which included highlights such as winning the inaugural PWHL Walter Cup with the Minnesota Frost in 2024, playing in the SDHL for two seasons, winning the "SM GULD" league championship with Frölunda in 2025. Brodt also played for the Minnesota Whitecaps and was the team's captain during their final season in the PHF in 2022-23. Brodt was a part of Team USA U18 World Championship team and was also a member of the 2019 and 2021 Women's World Championship teams. Her coaching experience also includes an assistant coach for the U18 National Team World Championships and an assistant coach at Hamline. Prior to coaching at Hamline, she was an assistant coach for Mounds View High School from 2020 to 2021. Coach Brodt will be a guest coach for both the Grand Rapids and Hibbing camps.

McKenzie Revering
McKenzie Revering is an assistant coach at the College of St. Scholastica. She played NCAA Division I hockey for the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs from 2017-2021, serving as team captain in her senior year. Following her collegiate career, she was a teacher and coach at Alexandria High School for four years. Her coaching experiences includes working with some of the state's best high school players with Northern Elite and Minnesota Hockey High Performance Programs. McKenzie will be a guest coach at the Hibbing and Grand Rapids camps.

Makayla Langei - Langei Edge
As a former 1st round draft pick for the MN Whitecaps and USA U18 World Champion, Makayla has over a decade of powerskating and coaching experience. While playing on the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team, she received many awards including Rookie of the Month, Defensive Player of the Week, AHCA All American Scholar, and Student-Athlete of the Year. When not coaching with Langei Edge, Dr. Makayla Langei is a General Dentist at East Grand Forks Dental Care. Makayla will be a guest coach at the Grand Rapids camp with on ice sessions focused on power skating.

Emily Meyer
Emily Meyer is the Director of Hockey Operations for the Bemidji State University Women’s Hockey program, where she plays a key role in supporting the Beavers women’s hockey program. A native of Crookston, Minnesota, Meyer played high school hockey in Crookston and collegiate hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Meyer was the girl's hockey head coach at Crookston HS and is also heavily involved with Minnesota Hockey High Performance 16/17 programming, where she serves as an evaluator and contributes to player identification and development across the state. In addition, she has worked with USA Hockey National Camps.

Kylie DeBay
Kylie DeBay recently completed her senior year at Grand Rapids High School, where she was a key contributor and leader within her program. She will continue her hockey career at the College of St. Scholastica this fall, where she will join the women’s hockey program at the collegiate level. Kylie brings a strong passion for the game, a competitive mindset, and a desire to help young players develop their skills and confidence. She is excited to share her experiences and give back to the game through coaching and working with the next generation of female hockey players.
